The Kingdom of the Light Virgins

    In such a place,
Where rivers had failed to exist,
Instead lived,
The famed,
Virgins of the light

But do not forget,
They are not alone,
For those who wander,
Will be prone,
To stray to the dark

                   That Wonderful Tale
Stars seemed to play around that globe. That mysterious globe of light. That beautiful, beautiful round ball of light. That thing, that thing, that wonderful, wonderful thing!!!!!! But what it possessed was even better, something filled with life. Something, no someone, more beautiful than anything else.

                                            That Feared Tale
Stars seemed to fear that globe. That seemingly hidden globe of darkness. That mysterious, hidden ball of darkness. That thing, that thing, that mysterious, strange thing!!!!!! But what it possessed was even stranger, something filled with life? Something, no someone (?), more strange, mysterious, and unknown than anything else.

The Tale I'm Here to Tell
The beautiful maiden hovered through the door and pulled the mask off of the worm.       "What do you wish to own?" he asked dully. "Silk, we need silk," she answered.
"Didn't you just get silk last month? I assure you, the other light worms make fine silks, too, you know," he said, obviously still tired
"Yes, they do. But you are certainly the best at silk-making. I'm sure you'll get a bit more off-time afterwards," the maiden replied  cunningly.
"Of course, milady, of course. What type would My Princess desire for her light body of beauty?" he asked mildly. He began to take in light through the sensors in his eyes and chew to create saliva to make the process easier.
"I need it all!" she exclaimed " But of course all you need to make is one type. The type I want is that type!" She pointed outside and he saw a strangling man.
"Ah yes, that type of silk. Of course, milady, how could I have not known?" he said dully. "Now leave me to my job. I need my peace to make sure perfect quality is included in the making of your silks."
The maiden grunted and left. He sighed and continued chewing. Finally, another maiden entered. She took hold of one of his wrinkles and he allowed the silk to come out in a neat, foot- wide sheet. The young maiden cautiously took it out and began to stroke his back.
"Hello,  dear Harifinn," she whispered.
" Hello, dear Zetrafina Elisafina Dafinna," he replied. "What shall you sing today?"
"Of tragedy and love," she replied "Shall it suit you?"
"Quite"
She sat down on light and began to sing:
"Did he know of her love,

Did she know of his hate,
Or was it really false,
Was it true,
That they sang,
On the rooftops,
Behind them the stars,
And the fog,
That would kill him afar,
Was it true,
That she loved him,
In such a way,
That on that day,
Her heart wept,
Blood,
Oh the blood,
That her dear heart wept,
When she found,
That the fog had swept,
Him away,
Oh the murder,
That caused,
Her heart to pause,
And never start,
Again."
 He continued chewing his cheeks.
  "Was it true?"
"Perhaps," she replied, her hands working magic upon the silk as she fingered it. Then softer she said, "Perhaps it really was."
" Hmmmm ," Harifinn sighed as hesucked in his cheeks even more in thought. "So, is the sly maiden going to slip the poor man out of his wits?"
"Yes, I suppose so," Zetrafina replied. "I suppose so."
 "Ring around the light ball,
 men a'coming just to fall.
Hypnotized, hypnotized,
they all come back!" Harifinn sang, mocking the way that the maiden from before did her work.
"Very funny, Harifinn. I don't understand her either, but don't mock her," Zetrafina scolded him.
"But why do it?" he questioned "Why coax them into drinking a magic wine, make them sleep and have a dream, cause their ship to look battered up in the cargo hold, put them in it, fly it off, wake them up, make it seem to them that the captive escaped, they return home. And then send us another man! Sooner or later they'll figure out that what they thought happened, was actually a manipulated dream. Then what? THEN WHAT?!" He put emphasis on the last two words he spoke instead of yelling them out
Zetrafina shook her head and the silks began to appear on the maiden outside. Soon she was wearing a beautiful dress of silk and clearly had the man hypnotized with her appearance. She coaxed him into drinking the wine and the process began. Zetrafina pulled out the last silk sheet and folded it neatly. She stroked Harifinn's back and told him, "A break is hopefully in order for you."
"Hopefully," he sighed "You know how she is." He nodded at the maiden outside.
Zetrafina sighed, patted his back, slipped Harifinn's mask back on, and left.
She set the cloth down by her "feet" as she looked around. "Home," she thought "My home is a big empty space in a big empty ball of light. All its got are a bunch of 'amazing life-forms.' "
She sat down and thought through the things (mysteries) of her life. Her parents, who were they; No, where were they?  Why didn't they all fall through light? The humans needed hover devices to stay afloat. Afloat. That word. Hmmmmmmmm.
She snapped  awake. "I need to go see my dear star, Holifina Von Shelifina." She began walking, not straight, but up. Each step went farther up, the molecules below her hardening like stairs.   Soon she reached the very top, her body above in space, her "feet" planted in the firm hold of gravity embedded in the light.
"Holifina! Holifina! Come here girl!" she called into space.
A star whizzed by and scooped her up.
"Zetrafina!" it said. "How nice to see you!"
 It stopped and settled down.
"Are you here to say goodbye?" it asked softly.
"Yes," Zetrafina replied. "I am. You're about to perform what humans call a 'supernova.' In reality, you're leaving to go live with the adult stars in the 'Other Space.' I will miss you, Holifina."
"I will miss you as well, Zetra. You've taught me all I know. Won't you sing me that song again?" the star asked.
"I will, Holifina, I will," Zetrafina replied and then sang,
"The babe lies in my arms,
 My outstretched arms,
Looking at what it has known,
 The Kingdom of the Dark,
That  of the Light,
 And its mother,
Me,
Soon it will be gone,
To live out its own
Tale,
Just like mine,
A fairytale true,
Love and romance,
Stretching far, far away,
Goodbye, my darling,
Of nature,
True and sweet,
Kindness beyond all demand,
And all that you've known,
Will soon be transformed."
The star, Holifina, swayed back and forth and said,"You've let go of other stars, too, right? Will I meet them too?"
"Yes, I have, and you will. Send me a child of your own to teach, Holifina. I would like that. Love from me to you," Zetrafina slowly sank into the ball of light known as a star. She could feel Holifina wrap around her ever so tightly and the mellow, good feeling that came from stars sank into and around her.
 "To the Darkness?" Holifina asked.
"Yes, to the Darkness," Zetrafina replied. "To the Darkness."

                                    Chapter 2
Zetrafina lighted down onto the darkness. She slowly walked further into it.
"Ah, hello, Virgin of the Light. What brings you here to the 'Devil's Home,' as some call it?"
A dark figure in a dark, hooded cape appeared before her. "I am one who lives here. In that globe that stars fear. And you, well you, aren't from here. You're the other side, aren't you?"
 "Ye-yes. I am. I am Ze-Zetrafina."
"Ah yes, well I few know my name. Those who approach it is hidden to. It is revealed to those who retreat. And those who do so are of limited numbers. You may just know me as 'Unknown.' Many who approach me know me as that. To them, and many more, I am Unknown. Well, you should know why I am here, but why are you here?  Few come and leave. Fewer come and leave."
 "I-I don't know."
"Ah, so you too know Unknown. You are to join those who visit and leave. You are not fleeing, for those who never leave come here to flee. You do not. In fact, this is not your first visit here. Many more have been made. And so I have known what to many is 'Unknown,'" With that, Unknown disappeared into the darkness. She was caped in darkness that made up her dark atmosphere.
