                              The Frozen World
Each step is a valuable item,
People with wheelchairs have no worries or scares,
Take 1500 steps and you're done,
That is why we rarely skip or run,

My house is a single room about 10 feet long and wide,
My fridge is on one side of my bed,
So close I often bump it.
My table is on the other side,
But I rarely sleep in my bed.
My door is right at the head of my bed.
The cars don't have pedals, but levers.
When you go up stairs, use an escalator,

When you've used all your steps, a belt will beep.
It beeps with a hollowness of dread.
You'll jump to the nearest chair, or sit on the floor.
Your hands will grow weary from passing the time.
Your stomach will starve.
At midnight, in the vivid darkness of night, you won't budge.
For fear you'll use all your steps, and be frozen the rest of the day.

You get used to it after a while.
No more Olympics or races or sports that you'll atch.
As hardship and boredom pull life astray.

The good things that count are okay.
Not many people can terrorize, they have too little steps.
If you've wanted harmless crimes, 1501 steps are it.
Every criminal has committed that crime.
It's just too hard to want to live.

We don't exactly have enough food.
If you can imagine why.
We can't get enough steps to buy very much.

The earth was once happy and swell.
It was frolicky much of the time.
But now it is forever still.
     Life has no purpose.
     Life is just shame.
A mixture of hunger, shame, and ice.
   Because ice is always frozen.
